Who we are

J.J. Magoo’s is now owned and opereted by a new owner operator. JJ’s opened in the summer of 2008 and has been going strong since. Operating from the former location of Stuft Pizza and located in the New Town Center on Los Gatos Boulevard near Kinkos and across the street from Moore GMC Pontiac, Jim continues to offer the variety and high quality of menu that his long time customers have come to expect and enjoy.

The original Magoo's opened circa 1958 in what is today the Los Gatos Shopping Center on North Santa Cruz Avenue near Highway 9. It operated until the early 80’s until it was taken over and made into a Mountain Mike’s. Jim is the former owner of that Mountain Mike’s Pizza which closed in November of 2007. In fact, he keeps the original Magoo’s spirit alive by continuing to use a commercial pizza dough mixer that he has refurbished and restored to perfect working condition.

Since 1983 he has been a fixture in the Los Gatos community and an avid supporter of youth sports and enthusiast groups such as the local Porsche Owners club. Jim has consistently and devotedly worked with groups such the Los Gatos-Saratoga Girls Softball Association, the YMCA, and the Los Gatos Little League. Since 1986 he has been directly involved as a coach to various teams including the Los Gatos Pony League, the girls softball league as well as with several schools.

J.J. Magoo’s sponsorship and support of the community along with Jim’s personal contribution touches many groups. This list includes the Union and Quito Little Leagues, Branham Hills School girls softball, and the Los Gatos and Westmount High Schools. In fact the custom one-of-a-kind wallpaper at JJ’s incorporates photos of his involvement and history with local sports.
J.J’s offers a homey and comfortable atmosphere that is accommodating to walk-in lunch time crowds with its “all you can eat buffet” as well as sports teams, birthday parties, and other group gatherings. There is even a bit of “sports crowd” appeal with several high definition screens and satellite dishes. Most importantly, the menu is just as appetizing and varied as his loyal clientele remembers from his Mountain Mike’s days that includes hearty pizzas, burgers, fries, salads, and a variety of hot sandwiches. The hot link sausage and Philly cheese sandwiches are his favorites!
Please call in advance for parties/groups of 10 or more, JJ’s Los Gatos location seats 70+ and the staff will make every effort to accommodate your needs.
